Holiday Chocolate Raspberry Mousse Recipe

During the Holidays it’s hard not to feel left out when everyone around you is eating the cookies, homemade candies and great looking pies and cakes.  It can be very over whelming by not only temptation but by sights and smells.

I have learned to never tell myself that I CAN’T have something.  If I say that I want it even more.  I have learned to tell myself that I CAN have it but first I need a protein, fat and a colorful carb.  What makes that so important is that my desire is diminished and the temptation goes away.

However with that being said I still want to experience the sensation of sweet.  God gave us the taste of sweet so I better enjoy it, but I don’t have to eat foods that are laden with high fructose corn syrup or have a high sugar content.  

Below is one of my favorite sweet and yummy dessert recipes.

Dairy Free Chocolate Raspberry Mousse 

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 to 1 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 can of FULL FAT coconut milk,
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup organic cocoa (to taste)
  • Stevia, to taste
  • 1 cup Raspberries, save a few for the top (optional)

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a blender of food processor until smooth.
  2. Adjust the cocoa or the stevia to taste. 
  3. Best served chilled.
